AHB Extension

Connecting People to Innovation

Extension Overview

To prepare the Pacific Northwest for a renewable biofuels and biochemicals industry, the Extension Team ensures that bioenergy stakeholders have the information they need to make informed decisions and recommendations. The team provides objective, research-based information to increase bioenergy literacy among citizens interested in bioenergy developments including: policy makers, landowners, environmental professionals, extension personnel, and other community members.

Extension Progress

The Extension team has established a communication framework to disseminate information between AHB researchers, partners, and stakeholders. The team is assessing the needs and perceptions of key stakeholders regarding biofuel and biochemical production in the Pacific Northwest. Extension is using the findings from the assessments to guide outreach efforts to support the new industry.

Extension works as the hub of communication for the AHB project. It provides a vital link between researchers working on bioenergy in the Pacific Northwest and community stakeholders. This video highlights the role of Extension and AHB’s outreach efforts.
